Licensed as a child-placing agency since 1948, CSS provides professional domestic and international adoption services based on the highest child welfare standards. CSS emphasizes support, preparation, and education.

The Domestic Adoption Program is only available for families living within the Diocese of Charlotte.
The International Adoption Program is available to families regardless of their location.

The NC General Assembly passed legislation regarding the Release of Identifying information effective January 1, 2008. As a licensed adoption agency, Catholic Social Services may act as a Confidential Intermediary for a biological parent, an adult adoptee (age 21 or older), or an adult descendant of a deceased adoptee to obtain and share non-identifying information.
