Catholic Social Services Week - A campaign in the spring to promote awareness of CSS programs and services that is driven by CSS staff with CSS Board Members and parish volunteer. Volunteers needed for parish chairperson and parish committee members. (Approximately a 6-week commitment) Note: Fundraising is not the goal of this campaign.
Mail and Package Preparation - This is an important yet easy task, for which many hands make light work. Mailers and infomraiton packets are assembled periodically throughout the year. Volunteer commitments can range according to your availability. Come as an individual or arrange a group of volunteers. |

Internet Marketing - CSS is looking for someone with internet and marketing web site experience who can help assess our internet listings and advise us regarding any changes, expansions and revisions that would benefit and promote CSS services.
Fundraising Events - Two major events are held each year - the Vinehard of Hope (traditionally a wine tasting and auction in the fall) and a Golf Tournament in the spring. Both are fun and engaging and in need of volunteers to make them happen. Volunteers needed for the Vineyard of Hope and the Golf Tournament.
Food Pantry - Located in the CSS office in Charlotte, offers food assistance to people in need. Volunteers needed to stock the pantry, for special food deliveries and for peak season giving. |

Catholic Social Services Week - A diocesan-wide awareness campaign, CSS Week promotes the wide-ranging services (see the CSS home page) provided by the six offices of CSS throughout the Diocese. Additionally, CSS Week helps all parishioners become aware of the valuable services available to them, as well as the impressive numbers of people who are supported through these services.
Volunteers for this campaign, organized in the three regional office areas of Charlotte, the Piedmont Triad, and the Western Regional (Asheville), commit to a 4 - 6 week effort in their home parish. Parish Chairs serve as the primary contact to receive and distribute information and materials (e.g. bulletins announcements and inserts, posters to hang in Church and school, brochures to hand out and presentations to offer at parish meetings). Additional Parish Volunteers assist with the above-described activities. If you are interested in volunteering to work in your parish for CSS Week, please contact Ann Kilkelly by email at akilkelly@charlottediocese.org or by telephone at 704-370-3349. |
| Internet Marketing - CSS is looking for someone with Internet and marketing web site experience who can help assess our internet listings and advise us regarding any changes, expansions and revisions that would benefit and promote CSS services. If you are Internet savvy and interested in helping, contact glking@charlottediocese.org. |
| Food Pantry - The pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. for people in need. Volunteers are sought to help stock, clean, and sort food for a few hours each week during office hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). CSS also needs people who can be available on an as-needed basis for special food deliveries and peak season giving. If interested, please contact Jeannie Beall by email at jlbeall@charlottediocese.org or by telephone at 704-370-3262. |
| Fundraising Events - The Charlotte Regional Office has two fundraising events each year, the Vineyard of Hope Wine Tasting and Auction in the fall and a golf tournament in the spring. We need event planners, workers, and interested people to work on the committees for each event. If you would like to work with a great group of people for a great cause, please contact Geri King, Office Director, by email at glking@charlottediocese.org or by telephone at 704-370-3224. |
| Mail and Package Preparation - Several times a year CSS assembles materials to be distributed widely or throughout the diocese. Because of the volume and efforts to keep costs down, volunteers are critical to effectively prepare these materials for distribution. Your volunteer commitment for these efforts can be as little or as much as you choose. If you are interested in helping with mailings, please contact Ann Kilkelly by email at akilkelly@charlottediocese.org or by telephone at 704-370-3349. |
