CSS WEEK 2009 ESSAY WINNERS
Catholic Social Services invited Catholic school students in the diocese to participate in an essay contest on being the heart and hands of Jesus today. During Catholic Social Services Week, April 25 - May 3, CSS directors awarded certificates to the winning essayists. Winners received a certificate and a pizza party for their class. Runners-up received certificates and an ice cream treat for their class. A student from every participating school received honorable mention.

Mary Finnigan, grade 7, St. Mark Catholic School, Huntersville, won the essay contest in the junior high division. Geri King, CSS Charlotte Regional Office director, presented the award and delivered a pizza party for Mary's class. Andrew treated his class to ice cream for his essay chosen as runner up in the junior high division. Mia received honorable mention for the school.
