Building Families Through Adoption The Adoption Division of Catholic Social Services (CSS) of the Diocese of Charlotte was established in 1948 to provide assistance, direction and guidance to birth parents and adoptive families. CSS, a licensed child placing agency, believes that a strong family unit strengthens society and enhances family life.
The Adoption Division is committed to serving the child needing permanent placement and the families wishing to adopt. The agency provides education about adoption issues and ongoing support to all members of the adoption circle.
We provide services regardless of religious affiliation. We serve Catholics and non-Catholics alike. CSS offers traditional, confidential or open adoption plans. Our services are tailored to the needs of the individuals and families involved.
